FROM THE BOOKS

"It's tough coming up, so tough. The fight business is the worst business in the world. Anybody that becomes a fighter has got to be wacky or crazy because it's a tough business. I wouldn't recommend fighting anymore because it's a tough business and it's a million-to-one shot if you can make it. When you're playing football you got twenty-six guys on your side, when you're playing baseball you got twenty-whatever guys on your side, basketball you got a gang of guys on your side. When you're in the ring, you're all alone, baby. All alone and there's a guy throwing punches at you. Every time a guy fights he gets three or four stitches on his eyes, his mouth. Then the day after the fight you're all swollen, your head is swollen, your eyes are swollen, your body's swollen. It's a tough business, man. It's a tough business."
